VialBase runs one automated agent to keep vendor price data fresh on compound pages.
VialBase-PriceBot
- User-Agent:
VialBase-PriceBot/1.0 (+https://www.vialbase.com/bots) - Cadence: weekly (Mondays 09:00 UTC)
- Scope: publicly-accessible product URLs for vendors we have explicitly approved via ToS review
- Respects: robots.txt, Crawl-delay directives, and any Disallow rule in effect at fetch time
- Stores: price, currency, vial size, product URL, fetch timestamp — no other vendor content is copied or republished
- Rate: 1 request per second per vendor (slower if robots.txt Crawl-delay is higher)
Opt-out
Vendors who would prefer not to be scraped can email hello@vialbase.com. We remove on request with no questions asked and switch to manual price entry.
